GUYS
Guys have clothes too. Some are really great. My husband loves good clothes and will shop for bargains for a great brand. Lots of guys enjoy looking good but on are budget that doesn't have room for the likes of Armani and friends. Let your guys in on a little secret! Swapping can move out those jeans from last winter and move is a button down for this spring!
The same rules apply for the men as they do for the women. Invite the guys over to have a beer. Tell them to bring over any clothes or shoes that they are interested in getting rid of, and set up shop. Let the guys rumage, try things on and acquire new items for their closets! Guys are slightly less maintenance than women, so let them just hang out and have a good time.
KIDS
The idea of swapping kids items is great ... kid gear can get very expensive! You may have a toy box that need cleaning out, or a set of Spongebob sheets that your 15 year-old is no longer attached to! What about kids clothing? They grow out of things so quickly, so why not trade with someone else. Baseball caps, games and kids room decor is also good to include in the swap! The moms can check out clothing for the little ones, the kids can trade toys!
MEDIA
Maybe your movie collection is taking over your living room. Maybe you can't remember what CDs you have. Maybe you need to get rid of some video games. Have a swap party! Trade your dvd's, cd's and XBox games! Make room for more by trading things 2-for-1. Clean out that entertainment unit and share the wealth!
OTHER GOOD STUFF
You can trade anything! Household goods like wine glasses and carafes, or throw blankets and pillows are good things to trade. Just be sure all your items are in good condition and are in style right now. Unless you throw a vintage-themed swap party, try to keep things up to date!
Swap parties are a great way of Spring-cleaning your house any time of the year. Reconnect with your friends and maybe come across a treasure or two!
Happy swapping!
