Sweet Dreams

Missy H.
A poem about someone I know

She has strange dreams
Not exactly night mares.
They are not so much frightening,
as abnormally disturbing.
She thinks they could stop,
if she'd just...just...something.
That still would not make it right.
It would not solve her problem.
Problem? The fact that she loves someone
who does not love her.
She thinks if she just told him,
got it off her chest, she'd be free.
Does she want to be free, and,
at the same time, get another one?
Another punch in the gut, proverbially?
Is freedom worth pain?
Is love worth pain?
Men and women die and are tortured
all for the freedom of others.
Pain for freedom.
A man suffered and died on a cross
for forgiveness and freedom of
every man, every woman, everywhere.
Pain because of love.
Pain because of freedom.
Pain because of love
They did it.
People do it all the time.
Can she?
Maybe if she did, she'd at least be free.
Maybe then, the sweet dreams would come.

The reality of it all is pain always accompanies love. I agree, very nice.
