Sweet Sixteen Party Games

Brandi Thornsberry
With the new show my super sweet sixteen, kids are starting to want a party for their sweet sixteen also. This was popular back in the day and its now making a huge comeback, mainly because of the television show. So if you have a teen who wants a sweet sixteen party then you may want to have some games that will match the age group. I don't recommend having a lot of games, as teens just love to mingle and dance. Games might make a nice ice breaker though and they will probably want to have a few games. Here are some age appropriate games that you can play at your next sweet sixteen party.

Kissing Cards

This game use to be a huge hit like spin the bottle. Something us parents did when we were kids at our own teen parties. You will need to have a card, any type will work. Store reward cards are perfect size. You will need to have two prizes for this game. Start off with having everyone gather in a circle. Then the birthday girl/boy will suck the card to their lips and pass it to the next person. You are not allowed to use any hands. If the card gets dropped then the two people who were passing it are out of the game. The game keeps going until you have two people left and then they get the prizes.

Mix Up Clothes

Another fun game to play as a great ice breaker and if you have boys and girls at the party is to have a large basket full of clothes. You will want complete outfits for boys and girls. The more clothes the better. Place them in a large clothes basket and place them at one side of the yard. Have all the guest pair up into twos. You should have one male and one female in each group. Have two teams start at the opposite end of the basket. When you say go, each team has to hold hands and run to the basket. They then must dress their team mate in opposite clothes. So the girl has to dress the boy in girl clothes and the boy has to dress the girl in boy clothes. Once they have finished dressing then then have to hold hands and run back to the finish line. Then the winning team should go stand on the edge and wait. Once every team has competed, you have the winners compete. Keep doing this until you have one winning team left and then they get the prize.

This was no help...I'm having a girl-only party and we all know each other pretty well. We don't need icebreakers.
