Yongfook has recently launched its beta version of self-hosted life streaming brand new service that meets even highest levels of expectations. If you manage your blog or photo gallery or have accounts at Twitter, Google, Facbook, Digg, it can be quite cumbersome to share your details to let your friends and acquaintances know where to find you online! Take a look at the features offered by Yongfook via his web software - Sweetcron!
Since it is self-hosted, you are the master of it! Its included themes, Boxy but good and Sandbox, is quite attractive. However, experimental people can find it boring to not be able to go beyond the default theme. The whole software is being handled by a lone programmer but the community on Google is trying to keep it up-to date. Since code is updated more than once a day, you may find it hard to keep up. The stream is updated every 30 minutes but its customizable and you can change the cron service for more frequent updates.
If you look at the brighter side, you will be surprised to see that the application has the capability of realising the source of data. The text link coming in from Digg automatically turns blue while Flickr item will show photo in a green background with a caption.
If you have a web server with atleast PHP5 and MySQL 4.1 with mod_rewrite installed on it, you can throw just about any RSS feed at it! The software is capable of handling most of the RSS feeds containing audio, video or text.
You can view the demo at Yongfook.com In order to install this web application, you need to register with a valid email address so that it send you the download link and links to documentation and support group. You can download the application via Google Code and the support forum is also present under Google groups. You may find installation a little more complicated than Wordpress or Movable Types. For easier option, just follow the documentation guide.
In short, Sweetcron is everything you need to keep yourself abreast and organise your e-life. You can Blog, Digg, Twitter, Flickr, You Tube, SN and do everything with a single interface. It makes easy for you to handle your web existence from one place. Sweetcron is like having your personal Facebook that allows you wall posts, videos, tags, bookmarks, blogs and more. It is great and most popular personal blog software for those who are starting their own personal blog.
