Swiffer Dusters Can Help Your Allergy Problems

Mary Wensing Dvorachek
Do you have allergies or sneeze while dusting or cleaning? Do your eyes itch or nose run? If so, you might allergic to dust mites, animal hair or dander and dust. I have found that I had these problems when cleaning, vacuuming and dusting. Those problems are pretty much gone now that I use the Swiffer Duster. I do, however, still need a more efficient vacuum for allergies.

I started using the extendable handle Swiffer when working in the photo studio. We had to keep all of our equipment dust free, especially the umbrella for lighting. With only being 5 ft. 1 1/2 inches tall, and also working with 2 other ladies that were short, we decided to give the Swiffer a try. It worked great for us we could dust all the pictures and frames on the walls, dust the entire umbrella, cabinets, walls and other areas that needed to be dusted, without dropping dust back down on us, which was great Before we got the Swiffer I would refuse to do the high dusting because of my allergies. My District Manager preferred that I not get a sinus infection and miss work.

Since the Swiffer worked so great in the studio, I decided to pick one up a Swiffer with the extendable handle for home plus an extra box of 10 Swiffer Duster refills. The Swiffer with extended handle comes in a gold box with a picture of the Swiffer on it. The box contained 1 extendable handle with some slight Assembling to it. It came in 2 pieces, one was the section that extends, the other was the part that holds the duster along with a long handle that attaches to the extended end. The handle is a a royal blue with with the attachment to put the Swiffer Duster refill on. The buttons to extend or change the position of the head are light blue and the section that would extend was also light blue. I especially liked that I could shorten or lengthen my handle and that the head on the handle pivoted in 4 different positions so I could reach those hard to reach places. No more having to get a chair to stand on when trying to reach the ceilings or the top of the refrigerator and cabinets. The Swiffer has made dusting much more enjoyable. I no longer have to worry about coming down with a sinus infection after I have been dusting. When I am done with my Swiffer there is a loop whole at the top of the handle that I use to hang up my Swiffer until I need it again.

I highly recommend trying out the Swiffer especially if you have allergies, and even if you don't. It is so nice not having dust all over when you are done dusting. I now am free of all allergy symptoms since I have starting using my Swiffer Duster with extendable handle. The cost may seem high but the handle I have for 3 years and the dusters last a long time, especially after you have your spring or fall cleaning done.

Cost: Swiffer kit with extendable handle - $6.50
Refills - $8.50
