The first time I used the Swiffer Wet Jet to mop, it set off the CO2 monitor. Not a great start, as that little box is annoying. I did have to chuckle, as the Swiffer Wet Jet set it off for gas. But as the Swiffer Wet Jet did clean my floor fairly well, I decided to stick with it. It set off the CO2 monitor every time I used it to clean my floor. Before I chucked it into the garbage as junk, I bought the Fabreeze refill. Maybe it was just the original that did it. Sure enough, the Fabreeze refill has not once set my CO2 monitor off. No annoying shrilling just from cleaning my floor. And the Swiffer Wet Jet Fabreeze refill smells heavenly, and not overpowering like the original Swiffer Wet Jet solution. No disposing of nasty mop water either.
One downside to the Swiffer Wet Jet is the cost of the pads. Its really not worth it unless you have a small floor, or only use it for quick spot cleanings in a larger floor. I can clean my whole house twice with one pad, but I only have a bathroom, hallway and kitchen to clean. And they are only a few swipes each. The Swiffer Wet Jet also doesn't deep clean very well, so if you have serious stuck on food, you are going to have to scrub with something else to get it clean. Though it did get up some impossible to remove stuff from my floor, so take it case by case.
The thing I love the most about the Swiffer Wet Jet though is the ease of use. Its nothing for me to clean my floor with it, and with everything I have to do, fast is good. Using a mop and bucket never worked well for me, before the Swiffer Wet Jet, I was lucky to clean my floor once a month. Bad I know. It is not a very green cleaner, so if you are looking for that, you might want to keep looking. I also haven't had any luck with refilling the refill bottles, so I wouldn't recommend that. Though it would be nice to just have vinegar water in the bottle. Be cheaper that way too. You do save on water over a traditional mop.
All in all I would definitely recommend the Swiffer Wet Jet if you have a small area to mop. It will clean better then a mop in my opinion, with only half the hassle.

Post a CommentI have used most if not all cleaning solutions with my Swifter Wet Jet and sofar I have had no problem with the cleaning solutions setting off my CO2 detector.
all cleaning solutions will give your pets/kids cancer if your pets/kids lick the floor or eat stuff off the floor. This is why you should keep an eye on them and make sure they don't lick the floor or eat stuff off the floor when you use cleaning solutions.
this cleaning tool gave our cats cancer. If you cats or dogs don't by this product.
I have the exact same problem with the swiffer wet jet setting off my CO2 detector. It's very annoying! Guess I'll try a different refill.
