Get Your Toddler Safe and Swimming This Summer!

Swimming lessons for your toddler is a great way to get ready for a safe summer and with so many indoor pools offering swimming classes during the summer it's a great way to get out of the heat in August.
Being comfortable in the water, knowing how to float, tread and swim will prepare your child for lots of fun even if they don't become a swim team fish!

Most toddler swimming lessons are offered in small group classes and just about any place that has a pool will have kids' lessons available. Think about public pools and membership clubs near you that have a swimming pool. Local recreation centers and the YMCA always offer group swimming lessons for all ages but spots can fill up quickly so don't delay!

Expect to pay $10-$20 per lesson and sign up for a session committing to 4-8 swimming lessons over a 4 week time. Each toddler lesson will spend about 30 minutes in the water so you will need to allow at least an hour at the pool and have healthy snacks ready.
Most swimming instructors swim test the little swimmers during the first class to ensure placement in the correct class and it is not unusual to switch to a different class for your toddlers swimming lessons during the first session.
