Sydney Harbour Bridge - Backdrop for Crazy Bike Stunt

US Daredevil Travis Pastrana Back-flips Dirt Bike Over Hovering Helicopter in Sydney

28 October 2009 - Sydney - American Travis Pastrana successfully completed one of the most daring stunts ever performed. He back-flipped his motorbike over a hovering 43 foot helicopter in front of Sydney Harbour Bridge as part of the opening to the MTV show Nitro Circus Tour.

Pastrana cleared the rotating blades by approximately 4 metres (13.1234 feet). He admitted it was a first-time stunt and he came closer to the rotor blades than he would have liked. He also struck some turbulence which he says affects the bike more than the rider.

Travis is set to return to Australia in May 2010 for The Nitro Circus Tour which will play all Australian capital cities through into June.

The last time Travis was in Australia was 2002 when he raced in the Australian Supercross, crashing during the race.
