Director Nick Willing has done a great job on this years SyFy miniseries Alice. The evil queen played by Kathy Bates, who plays this part quite intensely and makes the audience feel fear and anger at the same time. Alice is played by Caterina Scorsone, while the real star of the show is Hatter played by Andrew Lee Potts.
In this first ½ of this two part miniseries the audience is taken through the looking glass to Wonderland along with Alice and her new boyfriend Jack Chase "Phillip Winchester". The one strange part to this new Alice is where exactly Wonderland appears to be located. Wonderland appears to be a parallel universe to our world and looks as if it were hit by a blast of some kind. Wonderland however, seems to be in the upper levels of our worlds sky towers will buses that function as elevators to the lower levels of Wonderland. Alice as in most of the Alice in Wonderland movies meets up with the same characters, which all appear in human form to her, except the Cheshire Cat whom appears to Alice as her long dead pet.
Alice meets the Queen of Hearts and finds not only misdeeds and untruths throughout her first hour of show but finds that her long gone father is actually in Wonderland.
Filled with refugees of the way it was right down to those who preserve the library books of the past. This miniseries and its special affects is fun to watch and gives us old timers a new perspective on Alice's fateful trip to wonderland. SyFy once again has provided it's viewers with a newer version of a great fairy tale.
Alice is right up there with SyFy's presentation of Tin Man, their version of The Wizard of Oz. The second part to this years SyFy miniseries Alice will premier on Monday night at 9:00 pm Pacific Time. Please tune in earlier in the day for the first part of SyFy's great new miniseries Alice and then catch the last half on Monday evening.

Post a CommentI've gotta catch this one finally. Nice review!
Interesting :)
I missed this. Sounds really interesting. :-)
Wouldn't it be nice if I got some specialty channels... Sadly, we did away with cable to save some bucks. However, maybe there are episodes online?
I haven't heard of this -- I might have to check it out, it sounds interesting
I was actually quite surprised when I watched this show... I fully expected a super cheesy drag but it turned out to be pretty interesting... I have been setting my DVR just in case I miss an episode...
I really enjoyed Andrew Lee Potts in this miniseries. He was great!
This sounds great.
Tin Man rocked! I'll have to check out Alice!
I loved both Alice and Tin Man. Wonder what will be next?
