Sylvia

He cheated.

He ruined her.

Broken-hearted, she tried

She tried to start again
But nothing she tried
Could erase the dull ache
Left where he once lay.

She tucked herself in
Imagining a sleep
That would feel so strong
Yet somehow so numb

Praying that it would be swift
She typed her last breath
As she wept heavy tears
Carefully wording her goodbye

He ruined her
She left him behind
Such a strange world
To lose her so easily.
