System Tool Virus 2011 Fix HERE

Jeffrey Weeks
System Tool Virus 2011 is a malware program designed to act like legitimate system tool and anti-virus program. It actually is nothing more than a 'rogue' program meant to harm your computer.

This kind of malware is tricks you user into believing there is something wrong you're your computer, and tries to get you to believe the problem can be fixed by buying the System Tool product.

System Tool 2011 then pretends to try to repair the damage (or clean the virus) but ultimately fails - then asking you to purchase the licensed version - which promises to clean the infection or problem.

In the end if you buy the 'licensed version' nothing gets fixed and you have no recourse in getting a refund.

Go here for instructions about how to remove this PC threat.

And for those that just do a "system restore", that does NOT remove this crap from your registry. It is still on your computer. Malwarebytes and RKill (both free and easy to use) will remove it. This is coming from infected apps from Face book.

Just check out bleepingcomputer.com. Follow the rather simple instructions and it's quite easy to remove. Just remember to start in Safe Mode with Networking to begin.

The quickest way to remove system tool virus is to go into your files and delete the one that doesnt belong. Its kind of like a game...spot the folder that doesnt belong mixed with wheres waldo!!! yayyyy fun. Here are three different methods to try.

1)First of all before you start in 'safe mode' see if theres an icon labeled 'system tools' on your desktop.
2)If so right click on it and select 'go to file location'. It should take you straight to the 'virus' so you can delete it.
3)In order to delete the file you may have to rename it first.
4)Also make sure you delete the icon from your desktop.

Start your comp in safe mode. To do this you restart & while the computer is booting up you tap the F8 key right before windows starts. A screen should come up where you can select 'Safe Mode'. Once in safe mode...

    1)Go to your start menu.
    2)Then click on my compu

I found the most straigtforward way out is to find the desktop icon. Right click to find properties and identify target. Go to two files on your c drive and rename them "files to delete". Restart machine in safe mode and then delete the files.

    Good luck.

It's morphed into one that disabels everything. Reboot into safemode and eliminate said virus as a previous poster noted. Open up regedit and do a search on the malicious file and delete all keys that launch it. A registry fix may be needed to set all your exe's proper.

How to kill System Tools 2011 :

Reboot. When the login box comes up, login and hit CTRL + ALT + DEL (you may have to hit this a few times). Start Task Manager, and click to sort by Name. Watch for EXEs called something similar to this : iLnBi06308.exe. It is a random name generator, so there will be upper and lower case letters followed by numbers. As soon as you see it, select it and click End Process. Your boot will continue normally now. When it is done, find "System Tools 2011" on your desktop (the icon) or in your Star Menu. Right-click - Properties, and you will see where the EXE is executing from. Open Explorer, and delete it while holding SHIFT (to permanently delete it).

Then run MalWareBytes Anti-Malware. It will find the registry entries which are still hanging around. Once you allow it to delete them, reboot and you are done.

Update: Running in safe mode - Malewarebytes is waste of time. It finds nothing. I used ccleaner and found a file in my startup under C:\ProgramData\iLnBi06308\iLnBi06308.exe and disabled it -- This is the target file under the System Tool 2011 Properties icon that is sitting on desktop. I deleted the 2 items in the folder and the desktop icon manually. There appears to be no lingering affects or registry issues involved upon reboot. So in a nutshell run in safe mode, find folder, delete, reboot, and return to the Interwebs until the next one come along :D

My wifes computer just got infected and this program will not allow anything to be run. Zero antivirus programs, msconfig, regedit, or task manager work. This program prevents all normal means of stopping it. Very tricky but not unstoppable. rebooted computer, windows 7 ultimate, in safe mode by hitting F8 and selecting safe mode. currently running malewarebytes, will follow with ccleaner and if those don't work I will find out what reg settings have been hijacked and manually fix them. Will try to post an update once fixed.

PS the link above for directions did not work for me. I think it's broken.
