SYTYCD - from 16 to 14

Tonight started off with an awesome hip-hop routine by Dave Scott. The song - Warrior Part 2 by Eminem - is awesome and a fabulous dance track. The dancers dressed in caveman-type gear, and the dance was fantastic.

The bottom three couples by last night's votes have to perform solos, and then the judges will choose one guy and one girl to send home.

The couples' standings by last night's votes:

Ellenore and Ryan
After their hip-hop routine by Lil C, they landed in the bottom 3 couples.

Channing and Victor
Stacy Tooke's contemporary routine in their own style got them through to the safe zone.

Kathryn and Legacy
Their Andy Blankenbuehler Broadway number also put them in the safe zone for the week.

Ashleigh and Jakob
Mandy Moore's jazz routine kept them safe for this week.

Pauline and Peter
The quickstep that JT and Tomas choreographed for them was different from the other quicksteps in that it had characters and was entertaining, but Pauline and Peter continued the 'kiss of death' tradition the quickstep entails.

Noelle and Russell
They performed an african jazz routine by choreographer Sean Cheesman. They avoided the bottom 3 with their piece.

Karen and Kevin
After their hustle choreographed by Maria Torres put them in the bottom three.

Mollie and Nathan
Their salsa routine by choreographer Gustavo Vargas kept them safe.

Judges' Take
The reaction from the judges was that America got it wrong based on dance. That Nathan got saved just by his looks, and not by his dancing. He mentioned that Nathan was not learning anything because his following is not taking actual dance into account in their voting. The judges seemed disappointed that Karen and Kevin were in the bottom three.

Guest Performers
Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater were the guest performers on the show, doing an incredible number that was excerpts from Ulysses Dove's Episodes. The dancers in the piece were Linda Celeste Sims, Clifton Brown and Constance Stamatiou.
