Being Prepared Ahead of Time

America has become a nation of tailgaters. This article contains some helpful Tailgate Party Tips. Whether it is high school football, NFL games, NASCAR racing or even Soapbox derbies, we love an excuse for a party. A sporting event and now even concerts have become perfect excuses to get together before the event and have a tailgate party. Many people are setting up parties in the parking lot or adjacent field at such events. Here are some Tailgate Party Tips to make your party a huge and fun event for one and all.

When you are packing your vehicle there are things that you will need and you do not want to risk forgetting them. Keep this tailgate party checklist handy, to be sure you have not forgotten anything.

1) Tarps, ropes, chairs, tables, tablecloths and team decorations. These items ensure you have everything you need for setup.

2) Charcoal, lighter fluid, matches or lighter, cooking utensils, pot holders and make sure you don't forget your grill.

3) Serving trays and serving utensils, forks and spoons, paper or plastic plates, cups, ice, cooler, condiments, salt, pepper and food.

4) Trash bags for cleanup, plastic storage bags for leftovers, water to wash your hands and to douse hot coals in your grill before loading it up when the tailgate party is done.

5) Tickets, binoculars and a camera.

To make the tailgate party less time consuming for you to get set-up, so you can enjoy the event and time with friends and family more do your best to prepare as much of the food as possible ahead of time. You want to make sure you have plenty of food for everyone so plan accordingly. It is best to take a little more food than you think you will need. Guests appetites may be bigger than you had planned and you also may have unexpected guests stop in at your party.

You may also want to consider serving finger foods or foods served in bowls such as chili and soups. Include side items such as salads, sandwich spreads, salsa and chips and veggies and dip. Cookies and brownies are also easier to serve than cakes and pies. If the weather is going to be cold you may want to bring coffee and coco.

I hope these tailgate party tips help you to have a more enjoyable and less time consuming tailgate party at your next event, this way you will enjoy the event even more. Tailgate party's are becoming very popular and are a great way to spend time with those you care about before the big event.

You know what's a useful tailgating item? Snack Palette (http://www.SnackPalette.com) is a fun way of serving food that really works. People love them and it allows folks to socialize more, so I use it for all my tailgating parties. Helps nail down the "fun factor" in tailgate planning (no, I don't work for them...)
