No this is not for all men haters just for us women who at times wish to let our hair down and relax without men and their views on life or their competitiveness.
Let me tell you of a place that offers all of the above, Pura Vida Adventures. It is here that women can explore life through yoga and surfing in a non-competitive environment.
The inspiration for this camp is drawn from the Costa Rican word pura vida which roughly translates to 'enjoy life'.
Each day will be filled with wave riding, yoga and enjoying gourmet meals whilst laughing and having fun with other likeminded women. Not only will you come away with having enjoyed new experiences you will quite likely return home with a completely new outlook on life.
Pura Vida is located in the village of Malpais which in turn is on the pacific Coast of Costa Rica. Malpais is surrounded by tropical rainforest which gives stunning views and some interesting landscapes. This resort is situated on the beach at Playa Carmen and it is here that nature sends some long gentle waves which are just perfect for surfers at all levels.
There is a van that is used to transport you to other beaches such as Playa Santa Teresa and Play Hermosa.
Each day at Pura Vida is started with yoga. The yoga studio is open air, in a jungle setting plus overlooks the ocean. The yoga is used not only for relaxation but to enhance the body to aid with the surfing. Christina Radha, the yoga instructor, will help you with stamina, core strength, balance, flexibility and clarity of mind.
Let's look at a typical day at Pura Vida
Morning -Yoga, breakfast, surfing
Afternoon - Lunch, relaxation ( siesta, ,massages or pool), sunset surf session (optional)
Evening - Dinner
Accommodation at the Pura Vida is beachfront and set amongst tropical gardens. You can opt for a private or shared suite which will feature mosaic and teak floors, bamboo beds, outdoor decks, air conditioning, ceiling fans, mini fridges and safety boxes.
The Chrystal blue pool can be found beneath the foliage where you can swim or lounge in a hammock.
On any vacation food is important so what can you expect to eat whilst at the Pura Vida?
After yoga you will be offered a breakfast that includes Costa Rican specialties, fresh tropical fruits, gourmet Costa Rican coffee, juices and a variety of teas.
When you come back to the hotel after your surf session you will be served with wonderful delights such as salads with the fresh catch of the day, grilled chicken breasts and veggie quesadillas.
Dinner will either be eaten at the hotel or at other restaurants in town. But wherever you end op eating your evening meal you will not be disappointed.
