Take a Brief Moment Out of Your Day to Help

It is Amazing What a Couple of 'clicks' Can Do.

What Can I Do To Help Today?

This is a question that I do not always ask myself. I should, but I don't. I am just not that altruistic to think about others on a daily basis. I am, however, very prudent about taking an opportunity when presented with one. If you have been following my articles, you may have noticed a bit of a trend. If not, let me run down a couple for you: Children and the Environment, NuRide: Share a Ride, Get Rewards, Feed the Hungry, Twenty Grains of Rice at a Time, and March Is....
All of these articles are focused on aiding others or the environment.

Well, I have found another site that is dedicated to six different, very important initiatives and I wanted to bring it to your attention. The site goes by six different names, one name for each cause that is supported. This is actually a brilliant way for them to go as different people are influenced more by one cause than they might be by the other five. What is great, however, is that once you get to the site, you realize how easy it is to support all six causes!

So, without further ado, here are the sites, hyper-linked for your ease of access:
The Hunger Site
The Breast Cancer Site
The Child Health Site
The Literacy Site
The Rainforest Site
The Animal Rescue Site

What you will quickly notice after accessing one of these sites is that the other five sites are represented as tabs across the top of the page! it is a simple thing to jump from one cause to the next.

What Do These Sites Do To Help?

There are two ways that this group of sites works to help.

First, once you access any of the above sites, you are asked to simply click a button. By doing so, you initiate the donation of things that are helpful to the various causes. The Hunger Site donates 1.1 cups of food to the hungry per click. The Breast Cancer Site helps women in need of mammograms so that they might detect cancer early enough to make a difference in their lives. The Child Health Site makes it possible for children without insurance to recieve medical care. The Literacy Site helps to provide books to children so that they are better able to learn to read. The Rainforest Site protects 11.4 square feet of the rainforest for every click made. The Animal Rescue Site donates 0.6 bowls of food to rescued animals per click. These are all simple and free ways for you to help our world to be a better place in which to live. All of the clicks are supported by advertisements on the page. There is absolutely no cost to you to head over to the site or sites of your choice and click the buttons. Additionally, it only takes a few moments of your time.

Second, the websites are supported by a store. You are able to purchase items starting at just $1.00. In this case, the money that you spend helps to support the cause. When you enter the shop, the site that you entered from dictates the cause that your money supports. These shops are great resources for unique gifts. I recommend that the next time that you just don't know what to buy for that certain someone, spend a little time browsing the options in the shops. What better gift is there than one that also helps to improve our world?

How Can I Remember To Help?

As I said previously, I am just not so altruistic to ask myself what I can do to help every day. Fortunately, these sites make it easy for me to remember! You are able to register your email address with any of these sites. In doing so, you have the option to receive weekly e-newsletters, daily reminder emails to visit and click the button(s), or BOTH! As well, for registering, you will receive a free gift that is dependant upon the site that you register with. While the gift is free, you will be asked to pay for the cost of shipping. Keep in mind that you can register and choose not to accept the free gift. You will still be able to receive the daily reminders to click.

After I get my daily email, I click the link located there. This brings me to The Rainforest Site as this is the one that I registered with. After clicking the button, I then click one of the other tabs at the top of the page and - as the shampoo bottle says (you know, the one that is filled with non-animal tested, environmentally friendly shampoo) - Lather, Rinse, Repeat...as needed.

Real Results That Matter!

Do you ever wonder that what you are doing actually helps? These sites all post the results of our collective effort. After you click the button, scroll down the page. Here, you will find a pie chart that illustrates the total amount donated over certain period of time (currently, the chart displays the totals donated from July to December 2007). It breaks down the amount generated via clicks and the amount generated via purchases made through the store. As well, a little further down you will find the totals raised by clicks today (updated every ten minutes) and the past six days.

Which One(s) Will You Click?

Please just take a moment out of your day - everyday - to help out! It is quick, easy, and free.

This is a great article and I am going to send it to all of my friends. I think that it would defiantly help even if we all would do just visit one of these sites to see how we can help out,.
