Take Your Business to the Next Level with a Niche Marketing Mailing List

Melvin Richardson
Every business needs to cut expenses and costs during these tough economic times. One way to do this is with niche marketing or a targeted mailing list. When you have such a list it enables you to single in on those individuals who are most likely to purchase your product or service. For example an electronic store may send out a mailing to everyone that purchased a product over $75 within the last month. Another retailer may send out flyers or advertisements to people within a two or three mile radius.

When you have a targeted mailing list you are marketing to those individuals that share one or more common characteristics. It could be age, income, location, job, or a number of other factors. This allows a retailer or advertiser to avoid mass marketing. If you mass market there is going to be a large percent of potential customers who will simply ignore your advertisement because they have no interest, primarily because they don't share certain characteristics of a common group. Mass marketing is very costly and expensive.

Your percentage of purchasers will be much higher when you have a targeted mailing list. It's possible to send out advertisements which are mass marketed to 10,000 potential customers and send the same advertising to a targeted mailing list of 2,000 and get a better return on the investment from the smaller list of 2,000. Chances are you will have more people from the targeted mailing list to buy your product than you will from the mass marketing list.

Normally when you have a targeted mailing list you have a lot of information about your customer or potential customer in terms of their buying patterns along with other characteristics or attributes. There are a number of places that one can get targeted email lists from. Some companies sell their list of customers. A number of stores or companies will collect information from customers who purchased from them in the past. You could collect a list for individuals who gave to a certain cause, or volunteered for a specific civic duty. There are endless data bases that you can use for marketing and the vast majority will help you center in on or focus on specific demographics.

If you are looking to increase your return on your investment a targeted mailing list is the way to go. This will keep your costs down. You can have a number of lists all which target a specific attribute. Perhaps you are looking at a certain profession or zip code. Put your list together today and watch the profits soar.
