Kansas City is a great place to visit this summer for many reasons!

Sports fans will have a ball at a Kansas City Royals Game. While the Royals have not had a star season thus far, there is evidence that they may just be turning their game around!

So buy some peanuts and cracker jacks and head on over to the Kauffman Stadium in Kansas City. Tickets can be as low as $8 and as high as $225 for crown seats, and there are often give away at the games to keep the fans happy.

The Royals season for 2007 has been pretty split. Their current standing for home games is 24 wins and 31 losses, which is comparable to their road game overall wins and losses. However, rooting for the home team in Kansas City is a great way to spend the evening.

Another fun activity in Kansas City is to visit one of their many great art museums!

The Nelson Atkins art museum is FREE and has a wide variety of beautiful art to gaze at and ponder. The museum hosts a large amount of thought provoking contemporary art as well as a large variety of Asian, African and European art.

The Nelson Atkins museum is always free, and typically has at least one special exhibit that is available for a price. The art collections include American, American Indian, Ancient, Chinese, Decorative Arts, European, Japanese, Modern & Contemporary, Photography, Print and South & Southeast Asian.

The museum also has a beautiful sculpture garden with gigantic badminton bird sculptures which make a perfect setting for a picnic.

The Nelson Atkins museum also offers adult classes, teacher programs, school tours, studio workshops and much more. So if you are planning a longer stay in Kansas City, or you are within a few hours, suggest to your child's classroom teacher to take a field trip to the art museum.

There are also plenty of Theatres in Kansas City. One in particular is located at Union Station and is showing "Dinosaurs Alive 3D" this summer. Admission is $5.95 per person and includes an extensive guide by some of the leading paleontologists around the globe.

The Kansas City Zoo is also featuring Kangaroos this summer. The Kangaroos are included in the Australia visit. You will get to see mothers with joeys, as well as wallabies and tree kangaroos. The Australia exhibit also includes New Guinea Singing dogs, camels, sheep, black swans and many beautiful and rare birds.
