Take the Mr. Coffie Challenge Regarding High Page Views on Associated Content from Yahoo!

What Constitutes High Page Views Might Surprise You

Theresa Wiza
Linda Louise Johnson, in her article, My Analysis of MY Best Loved Associated Content /Yahoo! Articles and Why They Have Such Page View Pizazz, refers to Leroy Coffie's article, To All Associated Content Writers: What Are Your Top Five Articles on Associated Content? in which he asks fellow Associated Content writers to submit their top 5 page view earners. He hopes this information will help other writers determine what types of articles compel readers to read them.

So I have taken the Mr. Coffie challenge, promoted by Ms. Johnson, and have written this article where I list MY articles with the highest page view numbers. All of the page view numbers are recorded as of 10-10-10.

Scams on Craigslist.com: 2,657 Page Views

After placing ads on craigslist, I was surprised by the HUGE number of scam artists who approached me. After researching these annoying and sometimes injurious scammers, I discovered just how widespread the problem is. While I still use and explore craigslist, I know how to recognize and steer clear of the scammers. I also created some of my own form letters, which I send to scammers. One if them appears at the end of the article.

47 Ways to Build Your Child's (and Your) Self Esteem: 3,409 Page Views

When my children were in grammar school, I presented a pilot self-esteem program to their school principal. He dismissed it, never looked at it, and told me that self-esteem was already integrated into their teaching. I saved the pilot program and presented it in this article.

Noah's Ark Found on Mt. Ararat?: 3,584 Page Views

The thought that anything biblical could appear in tangible form in the 21st Century caused me to research this article. I'm very interested in anything that proves the existence of what some people believe to be only stories.

The Acai Berry - Grow Your Own Acai Palm Tree: 6,461 Page Views

The Acai Berry has garnered a lot of attention over the years, and to be honest, I had a feeling I might get more than my fair share of page views by writing about this subject, so when I discovered that people around the globe could grow their own trees in their own homes, I had to write about it.

Ted Bundy and Me: 7,033 Page Views

Interestingly, because I didn't know how Associated Content worked when I presented my first article, Ted Bundy and Me, I asked for upfront payment. However, Associated Content denied upfront payment on the grounds that not many people would be looking in search engines for this type of information. You can imagine my surprise at the number of people who found this article.

INCEST - Diary of An Incest Survivor-Part I: 8,687 Page Views

Though this article is a two-parter, Part I garnered the most page views. The article is written in diary format. I walk the reader through the life of an incest survivor (who is actually a compilation of numerous incest survivors), where I combine several years' worth of incest into one week.

There you have it. Those are my top 5 page view earners. I now pass the Mr. Coffie challenge on to you.

2011 looks like it should be a great year, keep on writing!!

This is a veritable "Who's Who" list regarding page views. Its like what Paul said, its more about what you write and why, not about SEO or who gets the most comments for the most sensational headlines. I love this. Bulls-eye on the mark. This is a sterling analysis indeed. Cha ching! Add another pv for you. This one deserves it. And wow...now 62 comments and counting.

Very interesting analysis on top page views! :-)

Hey very cool article. You have some great pv's on articles. Now ... how did you do that :)

  • Allene Newberg Bilodeau11/5/2010

Good stuff, Theresa. I see this article got plenty of comments of its own, too!

  • Candice L. Collins11/2/2010

good job on your articles, its strange to see what makes the top views isn't it?

  • Paul Rance10/31/2010

Ah, hardly ever made a thousand PVs for any articles! I think only about 7 or 8. Like you, Theresa, I just write. Concentrating too much on SEO would just make writing boring for me.

On some pages, at the bottom, there is a 'helpful' button, click it, gives another page view, and on some pages it says 'I like it'. I don't know why it's not all the same, who knows??

    very good, Theresa!
