Take a Walking Tour of Haunted Las Vegas

Jan S
With the bright lights of the strip it is often hard to believe that Las Vegas is the home to many ghosts, but it is. Las Vegas was founded by gangsters and money moguls trying to win over the hard earned dollars of the American public. In its early history, Las Vegas speaks volumes on murders, suicides and lost souls. In more recent memory several ghosts of famous celebrities have been sighted in the area.

Let me be your guide on a walking tour to the famous haunts of some of these famous and infamous people of the past. First on our stop is The Armagosa Hotel. It is said to be haunted by a little girl named Mary that was supposed to have been murdered there. Room 34 is the supposed room where this took place. Next would be the site where the former Dunes Hotel once stood. The Bellagio now stands where the Dunes use to be. The Dunes was torn down in 1993 and had been reported to be haunted by party goers on the top floor of the hotel.

Circus Circus is one of the more active spots in Las Vegas with people reporting a mother and child ghost looking for their husband/father. The woman was supposed to have shot her son then committed suicide in room number 123. There are also reports of loud screams for help in the poker rooms. The Excalibur has had incidences in the 10th floor hallway where people have reported hearing someone whispering in their ear and a strange feeling of someone following them. The Luxor is thought to be haunted by 2 ghosts of construction workers that died while the building was under construction.

There are several schools in the area that have reported supernatural goings on; they are Dell H. Robinson Middle School and Edwards Elementary School. The Robinson school has a janitor ghost that appears only to new students. The Edwards school has a child, a girl wearing a white dress that can only be seen by the staff teachers and 4th grade students.

Some of the casinos have haunted bathrooms where the faucets turn themselves on and off but since they are all motion sensor activated I would put that down as an oddity or electrical problem and not necessarily a paranormal incident.

For more information just type in "haunted Las Vegas" into any search engine and you are sure to come up with more fascinating locations to either visit or read about.

My Dad works at SECTA and said that when he would stay late in the 200 hallway he could hear music playing and the sound of children in the hallway but you would have to be alone. As for the Shadow by the gym I have not seen it. But who knows it might actually Happen.
