After fiddling around at 'http://www.myspace.com/takenbytreesmusic' for a bit, I began to play through the album, Open Field. These songs bring many things to mind. Sitting on benches in Stockholm, strolling through warm meadows, and looking at the open skies come to mind when listening. Victoria Bergsman continues to filter through the bog and toil of a tedious life with merry drums and cheerful trills. The interactions between the music and the lyrics are especially well done. The lyrics are particularly well written, keeping the listener in an upbeat mood and stable frame of mind. As the album progresses, both the singer and the listener both grow and learn to appreciate life and living. Part soundtrack and part croon, these well composed songs do not take repeated listenings to appreciate. Neither do they fade into the background, but instead continue to add an extra dimension to the environment. One can only imagine what painstaking processes were involved in the creation of any project of this magnitude.
Some people would probably like to put her music into an electronic music box. These songs keep little boats afloat as the canoes pass by, unheeded. Located on the webpage are links to download songs, ringtones, and extended information. Victoria Bergsman's album 'Open Field' is extremely accessible. Even the devoutly religious would have no problem listening to this kind of music, as it is playable to all ages; falling well within the boundaries of propriety. Her songs will encourage anyone that tend to themselves to explore the world. With fluency that includes Swedish, the lilting melodies will continue to invigorate the listener. Victoria Bergsman has several webpages that feature her various projects. Fans of alternative, pop, and folk will enjoy her work immensely. For everyone else, they might also be surprised!
