  2. Use the gentle detergent to cleanse baby's clothes with. Use the same to wash anything that baby's sensitive skin might touch. Make it a point to wash rugs, blankets, washcloths, towels, hats, gloves, bibs, socks, bed sheets, car seat covers, toys etc. At the same time, make sure you wear clothes cleaned by the same detergent at all times, for as primary care giver, you will be handling baby the most.
  3. Do not insist on giving baby a bath more than three times per week, and even then, make sure the baths are short, and in warm tepid water. Excessively hot water can cause further skin irritation for the baby. Post bath, use a scent-free moisturizer for baby's delicate skin.
  4. Take extra care of allergies. Be careful of what kinds of foods, drugs, or even drinks (juice or milk) that your baby is given. Consult the pediatrician if you cannot zero in on the reason behind a constant recurring allergy. Once you have been able to decide on the particular cause, remove it from baby's food regime. The doctor will definitely be able to give you numerous alternative options to guarantee correct nourishment.
  5. Try to keep baby as dry as possible, for even saliva can cause irritation for your baby's skin. Change baby's diapers, bibs, and clothing as often as you can, because as it is, it becomes difficult to keep a drooling baby totally dry.
  6. Try to keep the area of the baby's influence as sanitized as possible. Do not keep any plant or flowers near your baby because such things can create skin rashes. And in case, such a rash breaks out, you should cover the area to keep it from spreading further.
