Reflection: As I did my word search looking for bible verses with the words "without Christ" I only found one! Perhaps that is because without Christ we would find ourselves without the promises of Christ. As I look around this Christmas season I see that there are those that are trying to be politically correct. We find that our children's schools won't allow them to sing traditional Christmas carols such as Silent At Night, Oh Holy Night or O little town of Bethlehem! Instead they have been replaced with songs such as Santa Clause is coming to town, or Grandma got run over by a reindeer (sigh)! Now before you call me down on this I'm trying to make a point. How is it that a manager scene can be so threatening or even offensive to someone passing by? So don't look at it. How is it that we can say that the songs that have been sung for years on end all of sudden we find offensive or not relevant or God forbid (no pun intended) politically correct?
The truth is the devil knows that there is power in the name of Jesus & by removing "Christ's" name we are removing the power that He stands for. So when it's all said and done we want to say Happy Holiday's and call ourselves politically correct or relevant so that we won't offend anyone. Oh..Plleeeaaaassssseeee! How is it that by saying Merry Christmas to someone that we are offending them? Trying to remove "Christ's" name from this season makes us aliens & strangers from the covenant promise, having no hope and without Christ! So take the "Christ" out of Christmas and you have nothing but a Merry Mas or should I say just a BIG MESS! So if someone should say to you Happy Holiday's this season & you respond by saying Merry Christmas, do you think they are going to be offended? I think NOT! By the way MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!
Ephesians 2:11-13 11 Therefore remember that you, once Gentiles in the flesh-who are called Uncircumcision by what is called the Circumcision made in the flesh by hands- 12 that at that time you were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope and without God in the world. 13 But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off.
