I had planned to visit Delhi several times but could not make it. Last November my stars were favorable and I could see Delhi the way I had planned.

After reaching to Mumbai I took a Rajdhani train from Mumbai Central to reach Delhi. This is the fastest train which takes just 16 hours to reach Delhi. The train provides good food and has a sleeper berths. Next morning it reaches to Delhi. I checked in Yatri Niwas which was economical and convenient for me for site seeing.

Next day after finishing my breakfast, I requested to hotel manager to engage an auto for me for site seeing. The manager had provided me the list of places to visit. He first took me to Rashtrapati Bhavan which I saw from outside as we were not granted the permission. This is a huge Palace and has 340 rooms as informed to me by local guide. From there we were at the other end at Rajpath. Every year on Republic Day a grand parade takes place. At the other end is India Gate. Then we went to see Red Fort. This fort is also a huge palace and built in red stones. The fort is laid out along Yamuna River. This is a very beautiful fort which has two gates known as Lahori & Delhi Gates. Then we moved on to Jama Masjid and famous Chandni Chowk. This is typical area which represents the Mughal period. From this place we went to Qutub Minar. This can be seen from the far distance due to its height. Jantar Mantar is also a famous place to see. It's an observatory. It has a very beautiful park. Then we moved to India Gate. This is huge structure about 42m in height and a memorial of soldiers lost their lives in World War. You can see the names of the dead soldiers engraved. There is burning flame in the memory of the soldiers. Then we moved on to Lodhi Gardens. This is a very well maintained garden. It has fountain, flower plants & bushes. This is really a beautiful garden. Then we moved on to Connaught Place. This is a famous shopping area.

When it comes to food, Delhi is a perfect place to suit all budgets. There are plenty restaurants which serve the best food. For the real food lovers and value for their money, The food stalls in Chandni Chowk road side are the real delight. You get the best Kebabs, Tandoori dishes here. You get almost every thing here. There are variety of Parathas & Rotis, Special Kebabs, Biryani & Pulao and variety of sweet delights. This is a very crowded place but worth visiting if you are a genuine food lover, you must not miss this place.

Then we moved to Laxmi Narayan temple. This is also known as Birla temple. Our next stop was famous Bahai temple which is also known as Lotus temple due to its lotus shape design. Both these temples are very beautiful.

From Delhi we moved to Mathura by tourist bus conducted by Delhi Tourism. Mathura is just 150 km away from Delhi. Mathura is sacred place. This place is very famous. This is a birth place of Lord Shri Krishna. Lord Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi temple is very nice. A sweet called Petha is very famous from this place. From here you can visit to famous places Vrindavan & Gowardhan where Lord Shri Krishna spent his most of the time. Vrindavan is also famous for many temples.

Our next destination was Agra to see famous Taj Mahal. It is about 50 km away from Mathura and I reached there by share taxi. The Taj Mahal stands on the banks of river Yamuna. It is a very beautiful structure. It took almost 22 years to complete the structure involved by around 20000 workmen. Please check up the timing as it normally closed on Fridays. The entire structure is built in white marble. Seeing Taj Mahal In the early morning, at the Sun set time and at the full Moon night gives you a different shade. It is a real beauty beyond mere words.

The other famous place here is Agra Fort. It is built in red sandstone and the construction is very beautiful. There are various monuments in the fort called as Diwan-e-Aam, Diwan-e-Khas, Mina Masjid & Moti Masjid. These all monuments are nicely maintained.
