Taking a Vision Break

Think to Blink

Mag Inzire
Sitting behind a computer all day and everyday can become a daunting task. And without even realizing it, there is extra stress put on your eyes. Your eyes can become tired and this in turn can lead you to start feeling less energized and may even develop into a headache.

Energizing tired eyes by implementing a regular routine of taking a vision break can truly help with working behind computers or basically with any every day routine.

These simple exercises will help energize tired eyes any time of the day. Ultimately, this will help you to become more productive in all that you do.

Make sure to think to blink by:

Step 1 - Blink very slowly. Make sure you feel the top eyelids touch the bottom eyelids. Repeat 10 -20 times

Step 2 - Blink lightly and quickly for 10 times. Then end it with a relaxing temple massage by using your fingertips

Train your eyes to refocus routinely by:

Step 1 - Focus on an object farthest away for 10 seconds. Blink and breathe slowly.

Step 2 - If sitting behind a computer shift your vision back to the screen and try to refocus

Stretch your eyes just as you would any muscle on your body by:

Step 1 - With eyes closed move your eyes slowly and softly up and down, then side to side. Repeat 5 times

Step 2 - With your eyes closed move your eyes clockwise and then counter clockwise in a smooth circular motion. Repeat 5 times

Rest your eyes regularly by:

Step 1 - Close your eyes and lightly cover with the palms of your hands. Experience total darkness for 30 seconds. Take long slow deep breaths while doing this.

Step 2 - Relax your face, eyebrows and jaw. Do not squeeze your eyelids shut. Think of something relaxing and let out a deep sigh. Repeat 2 times.

Treat your eyes as if you would any part of your body and incorporate them into a daily exercise regime and you will reap the benefits of feeling better all around. Now that you have relaxed those tired eyes it is time to get back to work. Enjoy the rest of your day!
