Right Class
First, you need to choose the right yoga class for you. You are pregnant. There are specific classes just for you. Locally, I get an hour class once a week. Which is on a Monday. This is great because it prepares me for the busy week ahead. The time works for me because its before I need to come home and make dinner and is shortly after my husband gets home from work. Looking for all these factors that work for you and your family helps a lot. Pregnant women , especially if not experienced in yoga, need a easy, relaxing class. So be sure to check local classes available to you.
Loosing Stress
Yoga has proved to help really keep stress from your body. Yoga practices great relaxing techniques that offer you to release many stresses out of mind and out of your body. One main reason to take a yoga class is to relax the body. Stress comes into everyone's lives. When your pregnant its good to try and help your body release as much stress as you can. Yoga helps with this.
Staying Fit
Another great reason to take yoga classes, is to help keep your body fit. Staying fit while pregnant can be hard. We are tired, craving what ever we crave, and we just don't seem to find time for exercising. Yoga will help you stretch, relax, and move around. At your pregnancy yoga class, you may be asked if you are having any problems, like backaches, swelling, and whatever other problems your facing during pregnancy. This is the perfect time to talk about these issues and your yoga instructor can offer different techniques to help rid or minimize these problems. Helping you to sleep better at night!
Yoga Buddy
Starting any new exercise class by yourself can be a bit intimidating. Choose a buddy. This is important for many reasons. You need to choose a buddy that will help keep you motivated. This is important, that way if one wants to slack off the other is there to help keep you going. I have found this to be helpful myself. Also choose one your really comfortable with. This can help you open up to something new. Another reason to choose a yoga buddy, is to carpool. Taking turns picking each other up for a class is a great way to catch up and help each other save.
If you feel like these are great reasons for a yoga class during pregnancy, give it a try. Be sure to consult your doctor before taking the class. Your doctor will give you the go ahead , if they feel this class is right for you. As with anything, if you don't feel comfortable or if your feeling pains, stop and talk with your doctor. Yoga has been a great choice for me during my pregnancy. Maybe it will be for you also.
