Takipsilim: Pinoy Version of "Twilight"
The Pinoy Copycat Mentality Strikes Again?
Recently, probably the biggest vampire movie to hit the screens worldwide is "Twilight." And word came out that Star Cinema is producing a Pinoy version and will be entitled "Takipsilim." The movie is supposed to be starred by the young loveteam, Rayver Cruz and Shaina Magdayao.
In the spoof site PerezHilton.com, there was even a photo that already looks like a publicity poster for the movie. The problem is, Twilight fans are not very happy about it.
But ABS-CBN and Star Cinema are vehemently denying that they are indeed producing such a film. Both Cruz and Magdayao also deny this project, if ever. The film company said that if ever they will do a version of Twilight, they will be the ones to release the information to the public.
But really, do we really need a version of Twilight? Why can't we bank on our own creative minds to make our own unique stories? Or is it because Filipinized Hollywood remakes are more patronized than original stories?

i thought all copy right are protected against the law. when i watch a dvd movie i see in the beginning b4 the movie that all movies are protected by the law or pay the fine like $500,000 or go to prison. stephanie meyer has right to make the twilight based on her books. she is the one who wrote them. she wrote twilight, new moon, eclipse and breaking dawn. stephanie is already mad that her book on the midnight sun is out and she didn't finish her book. why would the philippines do this. from a twilight movie to a tv show takipsilim.i loved stephanie meyer books and her movie. i hate the takipsilim. i agree with fans all over the world that the philippines are copy cat.
i am from the philippines but i grew up in california. i watch the movie on my dvd when it came out in march 21, 2009. i have the posters, dvd, t-shirt, all the books of stephanie meyer, and the movie book. i really wish the philippines would not make a tv show based on the movie "twilight". all the fans hate when the philippines copy it. why can't they make a orginial concept besides making twilight. did stephanie meyer let the philippines make a tv show based on her book. did she say yes it was okay for them to do it.

i just hate it when they make remakes of hollywood movies.i even remember before there was a movie which was like patterned from high school musical..i think it starred kim chiu and kim anderson...since they have been receiving negative feedback from the public about this so-called takipsilim, hopefully they won't produce it anymore.
