Talent Oozing

What a Waste
Talent
Oozing
from my pores
Seeking expression
Slapped down
by managers
who manufacture
Fabrications of
Senseless tasks
for less than
Sufficient monetary compensation
as they smile their
mannequin smiles
watching me work
Twice as hard as they do
while I slide
beneath the reins of poverty
on minimum wage.

That was me just a few years ago when I was laid off. I took a minimum wage job just so we could survive. Thankfully I finally found a good job again, but it was my writing that helped get me through the fear and the anger. Great poem!

I used to work for less than minimum wage! We all have to start somewhere. Great poem.
