Talking Palin into the White House

Since Sarah 'Lipstick' Louise arrived on the scene some weeks ago she has enjoyed a popularity normally reserved for rock stars or Kennedy's. In the great scheme of things she's a nobody whose 15 minutes of fame could quite easily turn into 16 years.

From the way it looks now she's a shoe-in to the White House as Obama languishes, near helpless, having been dropped like an old sock as the media golden boy.

Mrs. Palin's qualifications aren't the reason she'll get it, nor is her political experience (although she clearly has more than the Democratic Presidential hopeful). No, she'll get in because everybody's so busy bashing her that we can't hear a word she is saying and therefore we're making a decision based solely on the appearance of competency.

And we need to hear what she's saying to determine if she's worth putting into the White House. It would be good to know if she is or isn't as dumb as a 130lb bag of rice (no disparity to Condi intended) before we get to vote.

To get to that point her detractors, whose constant belligerent put-downs are in fact greasing Palin's political wheels while throwing sand into Obama's, need to SHUT UP.

Stop talking. Stop judging. Just STOP. The intended negative onslaught is having the opposite effect. Her popularity is soaring based solely on good looks and the oft-mentioned lipstick. Without so much as a hint of a debate, she's already pushed McCain ahead of Obama in the polls. Are we voting for a cheerleader or a real player?

Let Palin stand alone and see if she wilts or blooms in the spotlight of political debate. Time is running short and if we end up with a female Dan Quayle we will only have ourselves to blame. If she gets elected she's more than likely going to be President.

On the other hand maybe Sarah Louise is a charismatic strong woman who's up to the challenge. She may indeed make a great first female Vice President or President.

If y'all don't stop talkin' we'll never know.
