Did you have too many shooters? Did you mix your wine with beer? Was it the free bar at the wedding or the party of the year? Hangovers can happen. People lose control. For tips to help you through the day see Tammy's Ten below.

1. Sleep- Sleep is the number one way to feel better. Try to get as much sleep as you can. Sleep in late, take a nap or lay down for a rest. Your body needs sleep to recover!

2. Sounds- Avoid music, television and screaming kids. Keep noises to a minimum. Noise can aggravate a headache and make you feel sick. Limit talking and using the phone!

3. Light- Bright light can increase your hangover symptoms. Rest in the basement or a room with dark blinds. If you need to go out, sunglasses can help. You may need them in rain or in shine!

4. Activity- Keep your activities to a minimum. Don't move around a lot. Avoid over stimulating your brain. Reading and thinking should be avoided. Rest your body and mind!

5. Air- Fresh air or a fan can make you feel better. Ensure that the air is cool. Open the windows in your car or lay down with a fan. Hangovers can cause hot flashes!

6. Motion- Avoid traveling in your car or riding in the bus when you are experiencing hangover symptoms. You are more likely to suffer from motion sickness. Your perceptions are not at their best!

7. Rehydrate- Your body is dehydrated when you have a hangover. You need to replenish your fluids. Drinking more alcohol is called "the hair of the dog". Crunch ice cubes or sip ginger ale!

8. Vitamins- Hangover symptoms include feeling tired. You will need an energy boost. Switch your morning caffeine for a multivitamin. You may not be eating much food!

9. Eating- Don't eat a lot. Try starting out slow. It's work for your body to digest. Try a cup of clear soup or a few plain crackers. Eat small snacks throughout the day!

10. Shower- Having a shower can help you feel better. Cleaning up is always refreshing. A cool shower works best. Heat can make you feel sick. Have a shower and go back to bed!

Unfortunately there is no real hangover cure; just things that will help you feel better. Drink fluids, eat light and avoid excess noise. Lay down with a fan in the dark. A hangover is a self-inflicted illness. It usually just lasts a day. The only symptom that lingers is the guilt that you feel from inflicting this pain on yourself. Feel better!
