Tampa Area Fishing Charters

I grew up in California where there are a lot of commercial saltwater fishermen and a lot of amateur and professional freshwater anglers. My family sold fishing worms to the freshwater sports fishers.

I moved to Hawaii with my husband. Hawaii has an abundance of saltwater fishermen and all kinds of fishing charters, the Big Island, where we lived, hosts the Billfisher Tournament every year. My time in Hawaii was my first experience with fishing charters.

Then when we moved to Florida, there is the best of both worlds, both the amateur fishermen and commercial fishermen, both salt and fresh. The charters listed in this guide are in two sections. The first is for a variety of regular charters and guides, whereas the second section lists some party charters which accommodate your
fishing party as well as all kinds of other types of parties:

This is both a fishing charter and guide service. Their specialty is offshore fishing although they also do inshore fishing.

They are located in the John's Pass area which is close to Tampa. Their crew has 30 plus years of fishing experience, individually in light tackle, sport fishing, bottom fishing and flats fishing.

You can also charter special trips such as overnight, drinking, offshore loan closings, and for fishing tournaments.

Guest limits are up to six for offshore fishing and two to four for inshore fishing.

Captain Ike has over 20 years professional fishing experience in the Tampa Bay. His specialty is shallow water fishing in the flats of Tampa Bay, night or day from local rivers to the Bay's many bridges.

He charters a 24.5 foot 2006 Sea Chaser Tower Bay boat, where he will demonstrate many back country fishing techniques.

This company takes charters into the shallow waters of Tampa Bay which includes the flats and back-country and the beaches, near shore reefs and wrecks.

Your license, bait, and tackle are included along with ice filled coolers for your food and drink, which you bring and your catch. Also bring your own sunglasses, sunscreen and camera.

Charters leave daily from Gulfport Municipal Marina, south St. Petersburg or O'Neill's Marina at the the Skyway Bridge.

Their inshore fishing prices include flats, bay, back-country and the beach. The prices are 4 hours for $350, 6 hours for $450 and 8 hours for $550.

Their offshore fishing prices include deep sea fishing, bottom fishing, and trolling 2-25 miles from land. The prices are 6 hours for $575 and 8 hours for $675.

All rates are for 2 people. There's a $50 charge for 3 and 4 people.

Tampa Bay Fishing Charters runs operations in the St. Petersburg, Central Florida, West Central Florida, and
Clearwater areas.

Captain Dan Malzone is and ORVIS Endorsed Guide for the Tampa Bay Area. His charters are ideal for both beginning and seasoned fishermen.

Captain Dan is experienced in locating shallow water sport fish.

You need to bring a hat sunglasses, deck shoes or tennis shoes with white soles only and sunscreen.

This charter provides lunch, drinks, your fishing licenses, rods, reels, tackle, flies and bait, which includes live bait fish if requested. Fishing is both live bait and fly casting if you can cast 50 feet or more.

Charters accommodate 1 or 2 people per boat and leave around 7 to 7:30am so that the fish can be spotted in the daylight. The flat fishing is in 1 to 3 feet of water.

A deposit of $100 is required for each day reserved. credit cards are not accepted.

A half day trip is $350 for 1 or 2 guests. A full day is $450 for 1 or 2 fishermen. A trip to Homosassa or beach Tarpon fishing is full day, only, at $500 for 1 or 2 people.

The fishing trips go into the Tampa Bay, Gulf of Mexico or Tarpon Springs area. This company are based in Tarpon Springs. Which is a popular tourist destination for you to enjoy after your fishing trip and for family members who may not want to go fishing. There's plenty of things to do and see, such as shopping for gifts and antiques, dining in their wonderful restaurants, checking out historical sites, taking pictures of the sponge docks and the many beautiful Victorian homes in the area.

All lures, tackle, gear, and bait are provided including a cooler and ice for your fish. You need to bring your own food, drinks and cooler, hat, sunscreen, sunglasses, camera, rain gear and soft soled shoes.

Queen Fleet accommodates both Individual reservations and charters and welcome beginner including children to experienced fishermen.

This company has been serving the Clearwater area with open party and private fishing trips for over 25 years. They have two boats with an experienced and friendly crew.

The Super Queen which offers half day fishing trips is 90 feet long and can carry up to 150 guests. The ship has a sun deck with lounge chairs and is the largest head boat in the area.
