There is nothing more fun for the kids and more romantic for a couple than enjoying fireworks at the stroke of midnight. It is just a fantastic way to say good bye to last year and hello to what the next year has in store. Here are Tampa's locations for excellent firework displays and where to enjoy them.
Channel Side
One great place to see fireworks displays in Tampa is Channel side. This is a free event to see and there will be a fireworks display and ball drop. Some great ways to make a night of this event would be to have dinner on the Yacht Star Ship Cruise and view the fireworks from deck while sipping Champagne. You can also have dinner either at Channel Side and enjoy drinks in the courtyard with entertainment or if you are looking for something more upscale try one of the restaurants on Harbour Island. Some great choices include Café Dufrain and Jackson's Bistro. I would recommend calling ahead for reservations for New Years Eve to find out about their pricing and to obtain a reservation. If you are simply looking for a location to hang out and watch the fireworks then I would suggest seeing them from the bridge that goes between Harbour Island and the Channel Side area. You will need to be facing Howl at the Moon to have a good view of the fireworks.
Bush Gardens
Another great place to view fireworks this new years eve is Bush Gardens. They will be having a spectacular display with special extended hours until 1am. I have lived in Tampa for a long time and I have seen the Bush Gardens fireworks and they do an excellent job. So, if you really enjoy hanging out at Bush Gardens then this might be the perfect place to see fireworks for you. I would like to note that this is not the best location to view the fireworks if you aren't going to pay to get into the park.
Outback Bowl Parade In Ybor
They are going to be going all out for the Outback Bowl Parade in Ybor City this new years eve with a parade and fireworks display. The parade will start around 5:30 PM with excellent professional style floats and will conclude with a fire works display around 8:15 PM. There are plenty of things to go do and see in Ybor city so this option really presents an array of options to make a full, exciting night. Since Ybor is so close to Channel Side you can easily take the trolley from Ybor to Channel Side and really take advantage of what the area has to offer.
