Tangelwood Subdivision and Community Slide Show

Tanglewood Subdivision is an extremely large community of homes connected to Millwood and Country Lake Subdivisions on the south side as well as a path that leads to Laurel Park on the east side of the subdivision. This community is enormous but cohesive, with many of the families connecting through their children. The neighborhood is family friendly and abundant with school age children from elementary to high school.

The homes are predominantly one story ranch with full basements or split level with a few two-story homes mixed in. There are a variety of floor plans and the homes are average priced. In January of 2010, homes for sale were listed around $180,000.

The location of the neighborhood is very central with shopping in all directions. The Mid Rivers Mall is Northwest of the subdivision with a jaunt down Jungerman to Mexico, you can be at the Mall in less than 10 minutes. Less than 5 minutes South of the community entrance on Jungerman Road is the WalMart Super Center and multiple fast food locations. There are restaurants and retailers all around the community, some even within walking distance.

Paul's Ice Cream and Donut Shop, a local treat for residents, is practically in the back yard of some of the homes. My 14-year old daughter had friends who lived in this subdivision. They used to walk to the Ice Cream shop in the summer time to hang out with friends and grab a bite to eat. Quick Trip, a local gas station and convenient store, sits on the corner adjacent to Paul's and sometimes they would stop and buy an energy drink for the walk home.

My son also had friends that lived in the subdivision. Seems like everyone knows somebody who lives there. My son and his friends used to walk to the McDonalds to get a bite to eat then hit the Blockbuster to pick up a movie to watch at night. In the Summer, you can't drive down the street in the neighborhood without seeing a group of kids in the street riding bikes or hanging out in someone's yard.

One of the reasons I think so many families with kids move to this subdivision is because of the park that is located adjacent to the community. With a direct path and entry to the park from the subdivision, this community is very attractive for active families who enjoy the outdoors.
