Tangible Jewels: A Mother's Day Poem

H. Kris Thomas
I prayed that you would come to me
So I put all of my love into nurturing the soul
That has greeted me.
Welcome Small and Dear One to the land where
Hearts are broken, but still manage to love harder than ever;
Where stars gleam and guide and inspire;
Where prayers turn from pleas into tangible jewels--
Creative impulses--embedded in
The space between your ears.

    Nice poem! A little too sentimental for me, as I do enjoy grittier subjects, but still, nice to read.
