Tangled (a Poem)

Tina Twito
A life of strings
laid out in lines
and spirals,
guiding
or deciding,

with litle bows
and knots
and sometimes
gaps and frays.

This way.
That way.
Turn around.
Stop.

I hope, when the
spool unwinds its last,
there will be
a delicate design
revealed.

But even a life
full of tangles
entertains
the cat.
