There is nothing like the Tanglewood Festival of Lights. Bright white lights flash from the left side of the street before entering the park.

Archways of red and green lights welcome you, before getting to the entrance gate. Soldiers of red, blue, and green stand guard at the archway entrance. The Tanglewood green and red sign flashes on the right side of the entrance, while you wait your turn in line.

The Festival of Lights can be seen from November 10th through January 1st. Cars can enter for $13.00. Vans are $21.00 and Buses are $80.00.

Call in advance to the stables for a horse drawn Hayride or Carriage ride. See the man in the field across from the stable, as he leads his horse in a training circle. All of this is done in bright white, red and blue lights. Hayrides are cool, so you need to dress warm. Hayrides are $110.00 for 25 adults. View the lights in a horse drawn carriage for $60.00. There are over one million lights to see and one hundred displays.

The Historic Manor House sits on top of a hill to the left, as you cross the bridge from the stable area. The white historic house has black shutters. The Frosty display lines the front yard, along with a Caroler's display. The standard/double package at the Historic Manor House starts at $80.00 a night. the Arboretum Garden is located behind the Historic Manor House. It is a public garden. Visit the garden in the Spring time to see the flora, herbs, and many other beautiful landscaped areas. The childrens' area of the garden has a play house for the children to visit. Butterfly's can be seen around the flowers in the window sill blooms. All of these are maintained by the North Carolina Cooperative Extension Service and the Forsyth County Master Gardeners.

To your right a small way down the road giant candliers light up the field. Red candles with bright yellow flames cascade in the green foilage around them.

White snowflakes flash on and off, while squirrels jump from limb to limb in the trees. Several other displays are seen here also. One man looks like he is ice fishing.

Down the road another few feet a pond awaits. See a Mermaid fishing and an Old Mill off in the distance to your left.

Visit the Red Barn for Holiday gift ideas. The Red Barn is open every night. Over 97 craftsmen have crafts to choose from. Stop in to see the holiday and fine woodworking crafts. There are also ceramic clocks, snowmen with hot chocolate in them and fine clothing available. Children can visit with Santa every Thursday evening in December. Photo's with Santa are $4.95. Soft drinks and snacks are available in the Red Barn. The famous marshmallow roast is still available. Buy a marshmallow and roast it over our giant marshmallow roaster. The money brought in goes toward benefiting 12,000 underprivileged adults and children during the Festival of Lights. The fund responsible is the Tanglewood's Outreach Program.

When you exist the red barn, the train awaits you. With bright red, green, blue, and white colors, choose your package for Christmas. See the girl watering the giant flower. Don't miss the lighted wheels, as they flicker off and on.

When you turn the corner you will see a giant Christmas tree to your left. It is decorated with all types of Christmas ornaments. To your right Christmas wreaths of white and red bounce from one to the other. The white church sits on top of the hill. It has a Angel display on the side of the building. The golf course Entrance sits to your right, as you round the curve. See the golf cart and man inside, as the white and red lights turn on and off. One golfer hits the ball and watch the ball, as it flickers out of site. The nativity scene is on the left hand side, as you go down the hill.

Turn to your right and a Santa display is all lit up. There is also a Christmas village display. The Seasons Greetings and Merry Christmas lights say goodnight.

The lights are presented by Chick-fa-la. Tanglewood is located at 4061 Clemmons Rd. Clemmons, North Carolina, 27012
