The soldier dies in battle.
Alas plays the bugler saying, we have lost another one.
Please be the last one to die in battle we pray.
Slowly-we return you to the earth from which you came.

But as wars rage on, Taps play again and again.

War is horrible, and I pray my son does not die, or any more but many will die, as it's the nature of war, people die. My son is somewhere in Iraq now and told me this morning in an email he is sick with the flu,
Thank you 3lilangels. I appreciate your comment on Taps very much. Johnny

Thank you John; I appreciate your kind comment on Taps and on my comment to Greenhill. That really is how I feel. I tried to join up after graduating from high school, but I had a health problem that kept me out. All my brothers but one served time in some branch of the military, and some of my sisters did as well. Thanks again. Johnny
Well written, and I am impressed with your comment below.
Tahnks so much Greenhill! One thing I am is patriotic to the military if not to the president, and I don't seem to like most of them. I admire anyone that is willing to go to a foreign country and fight for our freedom, or even serve time that to means he is there if they need him to go overseas at anytime to defend us.
Thanks again for your comments.
