If you are in the Ukiah area and have a craving for some great authentic Mexican food, then I recommend you stop by the Taqueria Michoacan on North State Street. With a friendly staff, the employees are ready to serve you, seven days a week from 7 am to 9pm.

The family friendly establishment has a comfortable atmosphere, is roomy and open and has just enough decorations to add flair, without over doing it. No reservations are required and getting dressed up is optional, but shorts and flip flops are just as welcome.

No matter if you decide to dine in or order your food to go, the wait will not be long. The longest I have had to wait is 15 minutes and that was enough food for three people. When I call in an order I barely have enough time to get there and pay, before my food is ready to be taken home. Oh, and my orders have not yet been wrong or even mixed up a little. Very impressive I think.

At the Taqueria, lunch and dinner are served all day and there are many items to choose from all made using fresh ingredients. One of my personal favorites is the Torta made with spicy pork, beans, onions, tomatoes (I skip the tomatoes), jalapeños, lettuce and avocado all stuffed in some type of bread or bun. This is a great choice for lunch and is big in size, but not in price costing less than seven dollars and you get chips and salsa with it.

Other delicious lunch plates include Enchilada Verdes served with rice and beans, the Burrito or a Super Burrito that is topped with enchilada sauce and melted cheese, Tostadas and Sopes. Each of these plates is under ten dollars most not costing more than seven dollars plus tax.

Dinner plates come with rice and beans, salsa and chips and for one dollar more a salad. Dinner specialties include a Chili Verde plate, Chili Verde Burrito, Carnitas plate, Carne Asada, Fajitas, Chimichanga, Tamalas, Enchiladas and more. Dinner plates range from around five dollars to eleven dollars or you can combine any two or three plates to create a combination plate for a lesser price.

If you are looking for Mexican style fish, you can find that here at Taqueria Michoacán as well. Enjoy a plate of Camarones al Mojo de Ajo or a seafood Chimichanga with scallops, crab and shrimp. How about a crab quesadilla, Tostada Camarones or a Burrito Camarones a very spicy and hot shrimp. The seafood dishes cost a little more with most being around twelve dollars.

They are also a few vegetarian dishes available as well as desserts. Drinks include, Mexican and domestic beer and soda as well as wine, Mexican coca cola and Gatorade.

Taqueria Michoacan offer the following meat choices; Beef-carne asada, Spicy Pork, Pollo Asada, Chicken, Lengua, Carnitas, Pork, Longaniza, Al Pastor, Buche and Cabeza.

The Taqueria Michoacan is located at 2200-A North State St., and dine in orders can be placed by calling 707-468-8464, enjoy
