Target Corp. Targeting Budget Conscious Shoppers for Early Christmas Sales

Carly Hart
Black Friday usually means die hard bargain hunters filling stores the day after Thanksgiving, scrambling to pick up big ticket items on their wish list for a deep discount. Now, Target has redefined Black Friday to mean hot deals on consumer goods in July. Today, Target.com announced a "Daily Deals" site, which will launch Friday, July 23, at midnight Pacific time and run through 11:59 P.M., offering savvy, budget-conscious shoppers a one-day "Black Friday" sale in the middle of summer to help them get a jump-start on their holiday shopping. These special one-day only deals are only available at Target.com/BlackFriday on July 23.

What kind of deals can consumers expect at Target.com/Black Friday on July 23?

Some of the best savings will be on technology items. A Phillips 47" TV will be $300 off and retail for just $699.

If you are in the market for a Blu-Ray disc player, a Phillips Blu-Ray will be just under $100 on July 23. This is a savings of 42 percent over regular price, making picking up a Blu-Ray in July for Christmas gift-giving an easy way to save a nice chunk of change.

Also scheduled for sale at Target.com/BlackFriday on July 23 is an inexpensive 6MP digital camcorder from Aiptek that will retail for just under $40. If you have a Wii at home, a Wii accessory pack will be half-off and cost just $25.

Need some ZhuZhus? A 3-pack of ZhuZhu pets will be just $18.99, averaging out to $6.33 each. ZhuZhu pets typically retail for close to $10 at most retail stores.

Some of the great deals listed at Target.com/BlackFriday will only be in limited quantities. For those on the East Coast, midnight Pacific means a 3:00 A.M. alarm clock going off if you want to try to secure a popular item at a nice discount.

The sales listed on the special website link will include over 500 items ranging from apparel, home electronics, housewares, music, books and more. So be sure to bookmark the site and visit it on July 23 to see if Christmas gift inspiration strikes you during the high heat of July.
