Target Screws Thousands with False Advertising!

Looking around on a few websites late Sunday afternoon I came across an amazing deal. Target.com had not one but TWO Britax Marathon car seats for sale. Their pattern Cowmooflage was listed at $59.99, and stated as a discount of $220 and 80% as this seat is originially $280. The second seat listed, Granite, was marked at $42.99 an amazing 85% discount. This seemed just too good to be true. I picked up the phone and called Target's Customer Service department. The customer service department verified that these prices were in fact TRUE prices for these two car seats as the pattern was being discontinued.

I was floored, and quickly purchased one in each print for my two youngest daughters. The rest of the day I was on cloud 9 from this amazing find! Britax is the top rated car seat available, and the Marathon has an extended harness weight limit of 65lbs. Extended harness weight is something I need right now as the older of my two car seat aged children is a chunky monkey.

Two separate orders were placed by me personally, with email confirmation and an estimated shipping date. In one of my emailed receipts the advertisement on the right of the email showed the Cow print Britax Marathon for their amazing price of $59.99.

Now let's fast forward to Monday morning. Target is claiming these seats were never on sale, they "made a mistake" and without notifying each customer, went ahead and canceled all orders that were placed for these two car seats.

Whether it was a mistake or not, Target should honor this sale price. I have seen things in other chain stores such as Wal-Mart where something is listed at a way low price, as long as you prove it, they honor their mistake. Target could learn a thing or two about honesty and loyalty.

Moms are outraged at Target for canceling their orders. They are complaining, writing letters and talking to anyone they can about the horrible customer service and treatment we all have received in trying to get this situation resolved with Target.

As of right now, Target is walking all over their customers. Customer service representatives as well as managers are basically laughing in the ears of all customers calling to complain. This is not the way to go about business in a time when the majority of companies are struggling.

Target should realize word of mouth is strong, and Moms have a lot to say. In online social networking communities such as CafeMom, Moms rule. We are the ones to tell others what products are good, and which aren't. There are a lot of pissed off moms out there right now who have no desire to be quiet over Target's mistake.

All we want is for Target to honor their advertising and give us our car seats for the prices listed and purchased for.
