Target Store Memory Foam Contour Pillow Review

Finding a good head and neck supporting pillow is almost as hard as finding a good mattress but not quite as costly. I've had problems sleeping comfortably an entire night through because of my pillows. There have been many days where I'd wake up with tense muscles, a stiff neck or there were times it got so bad I couldn't bend my neck. One late night as I surfed the channels for something to watch I came across a commercial for the Tempur-Pedic mattress and saw that they also made pillows. The major downside to the Tempur-Pedic pillow is that it costs close to $100. I wasn't about to spend $100 on a pillow so I went searching for an affordable alternative and that's when I came across the Memory Foam Contour pillow at Target.

I've been using my Target Memory Foam Contour pillow for about a year now and there are some things that I like about it but there are just as many aspects to this pillow that I didn't like. First off, I like that my Memory Foam Contour pillow is affordable, I believe I got it for around $20. It's obviously easy to find if there's a Target store near you, and even if there isn't you can always order it off of their website. My Memory Foam Contour pillow is soft but firm enough to give my neck the support it needs. It's shaped much like the Tempur-Pedic pillow too. It's comes in a box a with handle, instead of a regular plastic bag that normal pillows come in. The foam pillow itself comes with a zipper case that feels much like a bath towel.

As much as I wanted to love this pillow and I really thought that it would fix my sleeping problems that I get with my old pillows it didn't, in fact I think it sort of made it worse. The pillow smelled funny and I'm pretty sure it was made to smell that way on purpose. It smelled like something herbal, sort of like patchouli. If you like the smell of patchouli that's fine but the smell to me was nauseating, even with another pillow case on the scent was strong. It took weeks before the smell died down or I got use to it, but I can still smell it from time to time. The pillow is a good design in concept but it didn't seem to help me any. My Memory Foam Contour pillow made sleeping even more uncomfortable. I guess if you're the type that doesn't move around much it would work but I move around quite a lot when I'm asleep and this pillow just made my head hurt. I don't get a stiff neck anymore, instead I get headaches.

Target's Memory Foam Contour pillow was a nice concept and I'm not sure if the Tempur-Pedic pillow would be any better but it didn't work for me. I would only recommend it as an affordable alternative to the Tempur-Pedic pillow if you like the design but I wouldn't buy another one for myself, in fact I went back to my regular pillows.
