Tarte LipSurgence TM for Incredibly Moist Lips

LipSurgence Promises a 6000% Increase in the Moisture of Your Lips

L. Lee Scott
Would you like to increase the moisture content of your lips by 6000% in a month? That's right, six thousand per cent? You can, simply by using Tarte LipSurgenceTM, a natural lipstain.

If you've never heard of Tarte, but you love all things natural, you're in for a treat. Founder and CEO of Tarte, Maureen Kelly, started the brand in her one-bedroom apartment back in 1999. She wanted to make cosmetics that are healthy for your skin and what's inside it. She focused on using natural ingredients, and makes her skinvigorating products from healthy botanicals, including Tarte's proprietary blend of five fruits filled with antioxidants, called the t5 super fruit complex.

Tarte also puts its money where its mouth is. They buy products from the Sustainable Amazon Partnership (SAP), a program that encourages rainforest conservation, creates jobs, offers educational opportunities, and improves the living conditions for the individual farmers who grow açaí palm trees and other fruits.

So what makes Tarte's LipSurgenceTM so special? It might be the peppermint infusion, that makes them smell and taste wonderful, but it's probably the LipSurgenceTM technology, created from a proprietary blend of plant bio-nutrients. This technology is absorbed by your skin and delivers a load of moisture at the cell level, resulting in fuller, plumper lips. Unlike most other lip plumping products, there is no stinging or discomfort from LipSurgenceTM.

Some of those ingredients, besides the peppermint, include jojoba oil, an oil that makes your lips softer and smoother; vitamin C, an anti-oxidant that fights free radicals and brighten the look of your lips; vitamin E, another anti-oxidant that protects against the damage caused by free radicals and keeps your lips from becoming inflamed. Not included are mineral oils, petrolatum, parabens, or phthalates. All Tarte products are cruelty free.

There are actually two LipSurgenceTM lines; the natural shades, and the natural matte stain. In the non-matte line, you'll find Amused (bright pink), Joy (peach), Lust (red), Moody (deep berry), Charmed (light pink), and Enchanted (rose); in the matte line, you can choose from Lucky (light pink), Hope (warm rose), Lively (hot pink), Envy (mauve berry), and Exposed (nude). Both lines promise a 6000% increase in the moisture in your lips in 28 days. I haven't been using my Envy quite that long, but I've definitely seen an increase in moisture, especially when I don't lick it off!

So to plump your lips, forget the products with toxic names. Turn to natural, cruelty-free, good for you Tarte.

Are they all peppermint-flavored? Seems like that might get old after a while...
