Right-click on the Start Menu Icon and choose Properties. Here you will find three different tabs; taskbar, start menu, and toolbars.
The Taskbar tab allows customization of the taskbar. This is located at the bottom of your Desktop Screen. To the right of the Taskbar is the Notifications Area. The Taskbar tab window will allow customization of what should or should appear in your Notifications Area. Click the customize option to take control over these icons and notifications.
The taskbar location can be changed to one of three other locations. A pull-down menu in the Taskbar tab window allows you to choose from left, right, and top of screen. There is an auto-hide feature as well located in the Taskbar tab window.
When you are finished exploring this area; click apply to set the changes before you continue.
The Start Menu tab allows the customization of how menus, icons, or links look and behave in the Start Menu. The Start Menu tab gives you Privacy options for recently opened documents or programs. Clicking on the Customization option displays a menu of features regarding the look and feel of your start menu. You can choose whether to have something visible; or whether something should be represented as a link or a menu.
When you are finished exploring this area; click apply to set the changes before you continue.
The Toolbar tab will allow additions of 'toolbars' to the right of the taskbar; such as Desktop or Links toolbars. These can be considered shortcuts.
