Taste of Home Cooking Schools and Popovich Comedy Pet Theater Highlight October's "Off Season" Shows for the Cheyenne Civic Center
Performing Pets and Cooking Demonstrations Take the Stage at the Cheyenne Civic Center for October
The magazine Taste of Home has its own traveling cooking shows, and once again this event will make an appearance in Cheyenne's performing arts complex at 7 pm on October 6. Several recipes and cooking tips will be demonstrated on the stage that will go with the autumn season. Tickets can be purchased for $12 in advance and $14 the day of the event, though a $30 VIP ticket will buy not only a ticket but a Taste of Home Comfort Food Diet Cookbook, and access to a pre-show "meet and greet" session, according the Taste of Home website.
The World Famous Popovich Comedy Pet Theater is scheduled to begin at 7 pm on October 21. This show has made appearances on the television shows of Jay Leno, David Letterman and on such channels like Animal Planet and CNN according to the show's website. The show uses some 15 cats and 10 dogs (who were either strays or rescued from animal shelters) to entertain audiences, along with acts by clowns, jugglers, and balancers. Tickets range from $14 to $25.50.
Tickets for both events can be purchased at the Cheyenne Civic Center link here.
The month of October will close out with two free concerts from LCCC entities. On October 26 at 7 pm, a Halloween concert full of music from the college's ensembles called Bump in the Night VI will take place. Audience members participate in a contest where they carve out faces in pumpkins, which are later lit to thrill the audience. Two days later on October 28, LCCC's instrumental and vocal ensembles, the Cheyenne Trombone Ensemble, plus East High School's jazz ensembles will perform Fallin' for Jazz at the Cheyenne Civic Center beginning at 7:30 pm. The latter event will be taking donations for the local homeless shelter.

I've been an usher for the Cheyenne Civic Center since the 2004-05 season, but what I write and stress in this article are my own observations.
