Clay Pit Contemporary Indian Cuisine

This restaurant has great Indian food. However, it is mainstream in that it is similar to every other general Indian restaurant. Well, at least it used to be. Recently the chef at the restaurant decided to make changes to the menu that would include items that are different from every other Indian restaurant. One such item is the masala rib eye with garlic chile butter, which is one of many patrons' favorites. One of the things you also find at this restaurant are crosses are hybrid dishes such as quesadillas and wraps made with naan. The restaurant hours are Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Saturday and Sunday noon to 3 p.m., Sunday through Thursday from 5 to 10 p.m., and Friday and Saturday 5 to 11 p.m. prices run from $8-$27 for a meal. This Indian restaurant in Dallas is located in far North Dallas. The menu provides several different types of braided including naan, aloo paratha, and roti, which are all fabulous. The service is excellent and that you have never had to ask for refill on water regardless of what else you may be drinking. The desserts include standard Indian inspired desserts as well as an awesome chocolate cake. Prices for an average meal which would include an appetizer entrée and dessert will run anywhere from $12-$24. This restaurant has a menu that goes on for days. There is a bevy of vegetarian as well as non-vegetarian items and they feature a large amount of Indochinese entrées. Entrées range in price from $8-$13.50. This restaurant specializes in both northern and southern Indian dishes. The tandoori sizzlers that they offer are available à la carte, served with rice and naan, for a maximum of $14.95 or as a thali dinner, which includes the vegetable curry of the day, sambar, dal curry, raita, rice, plain naan, and a dessert for no more than $16.95. Masala touts itself as being a "casual Indian diner with the Chinese twist". It does this by using traditional Indian spices and cooking the dishes in the methods of the Chinese. Food is very reasonably priced. The suits are only $2, appetizers are $5, entrées range from $6.75 to $8.95, and desserts are $3. Keep in mind when visiting that the restaurant is normally crowded and to be considered a quick casual restaurant food delivery is not fast. However, to those looking for a reasonably priced meal, it is worth the trouble. Pasand is a restaurant with great food. Unbelievable? Just wait until you open the doors to the restaurant and see the line. However, it is well worth the wait. The restaurant features a lunch buffet available Monday through Saturday, and one of the favorites from the menu is the masala dosa that is a very thin crepe filled with vegetables and served with one of many sauces. Order it even if you are not there for the buffet! Saffron House offers a ride in a variety of Indian dishes. One of the best is the machili mirch tikka also known as tandoori salmon. This fish is served fresh with great seasonings. The Chicken 65 is a big seller at this eatery. Food items range from $2.50 to $17.95.
