Halloween is right around the corner. It's time to decorate your home for the holiday. To get the most out of your home decorating efforts, I suggest putting Halloween decor up on Oct. 1 and leaving it up until Nov. 1. Celebrate for a month rather than a day. Our focus will be on tasteful Halloween decor that is not too gruesome. Many of my suggestions can be used year-round, yet when put together they scream Halloween.
Martha Stewart's Mirror Glow Eyes
This is a home decor craft project that comes to us from the Martha Stewart show. Martha tells us how to make a mirror frame glow and shine. The eye template is provided on her web site. Only a few supplies are needed which makes this home decor craft a thrifty yet spooky delight. Ready to make your own mirror to hang in October? Click here to find out how.
Black and White Lollipops
Decorate with candy that can later be given out as treats. Purchase black and white round-up lollipops and black and white whirly pops. Make a lollipop vase display by filling a clear vase with Halloween confetti, followed by the pops. I recommend the black and purple confetti bats mixed with glow in the dark star confetti.
Black Cat Wall Clock
Upon viewing this wall clock, it was love at first sight. The Infinity Instruments Fisher-15" Metal Wall Clock can be used year round, as well as add to Halloween decor. The black cat and orange fish combine to make perfect Halloween colors.
Bat Paper Lantern
The black bat paper lantern by Pottery Barn is perfect for hanging indoors or out. I recommend hanging this bat indoors so it can be used year after year for Halloween decor.
Fall Leaves
Decorating with artificial fall leaves intertwines the fall color scheme into Halloween decor. Fall leaves can be displayed perfectly in a crystalline vase and left out for the entire fall season.
Scented Candles
Add the smell of fall to your home with scented candles. Scented candles come in many variations for fall and Halloween. Scented candles add beauty and a festive scent to your home.
Crystal Ball Table Lamp
Complete your Halloween home decorating with this crystal ball table lamp. The crystal ball table lamp can also be used year-round which is an added benefit. When added to Halloween decor such as bat lanterns and spooky mirrors, it will definitely shine as a crystal ball.
Happy fall shopping and happy Halloween!
