Every time my husband and I go out for dinner, he loves to go to Houlihans Restaurant and order their potato soup. It is creamy and filled with cheddar cheese and bacon. I never tasted it myself; I also let him enjoy the whole thing. Well, at this Tastefully Simple party they were selling a product called Perfectly Potato Cheddar Soup Mix. I figured I would buy it and make it for my husband.
I am not a cook. I try and try but nothing seems to work out. I was so happy when I read the directions on the box. I soon learned that Tastefully Simple products are so easy to make. All you have to do with the Perfectly Potato Cheddar Soup Mix is add water and simmer for thirty minutes mixing occasionally. That's all! Even I could not mess that up. When I made it for my husband the other night he could not believe it. It was delicious. He was so impressed with my "cooking skills." I had to confess that all I did was add water. Not too difficult.
When I served it, I realized that it didn't start to thicken up until the second serving. The first serving I gave him was still a little too runny. My advice to myself and to others would be to let it sit for at least 15 minutes after simmering. Let it have to time to thicken up. In addition, I would suggest buying cheddar cheeses already shredded. You can sprinkle a little but of cheese right on top. My husband also decided to add some bacon bits as well. You can just buy those in a jar.
I decided to try it myself. Delicious! I couldn't believe it. The one package ended up making enough for six servings. You can purchase this product from the Tastefully Simple website for $6.99 plus shipping and handling. You can purchase the value pack for $12.99. This value pack comes with two packages of soup mix. If you order any products directly from their website and your order is up to $79.00 that will equal out to a $7.95 shipping fee. Any order of $80.00 or more than your shipping fee will equal out to 10% of your total order. If you couldn't make a party and want to order directly from the website, your shipping fee will be a little less. Instead of $7.99, it will be $6.99 for an order up to $49.99. On orders $50.00 or more your shipping fee will be 10% of your total order. It sounds a little expensive including the shipping fees but the Perfectly Potato Cheddar Soup is well worth the money. Even if you were to attend one of these house parties, you still have to pay the shipping fees. The products will be shipped directly to your home, which is great.
Some products are only offered seasonally. Therefore, you might want to stock up on your favorite ones. I am definitely going to stock up on the Perfectly Potato Cheddar Soup Value Pack. From what I can tell, this product is offered all year round but I still do not want to take the chance. Tastefully Simple is always changing their product line to add new items. I cannot wait to try out my new Sun-Dried Tomato and Feta Cheese Ball Mix. I look forward to writing my next review.
