Tasty Lips with Maybelline Shiny Licious Lip Gloss

Susan Slade
I picked up a tube of Maybelline shiny Licious Lip Gloss at the local Dollar Tree store. This is another good purchase for only a buck.

It was sealed the same as if I had purchased it in any departmental store, or drugstore. I got my nail under the front plastic, and lifted off the front.

The tube is a similar size to my other brand name lip glosses, which is .38 fluid ounce (11.3 ml). The tube is clear so you can see the color through it. I chose Plum Passion.

Upon opening the top, there is a slanted edge, with a hole in the middle, for the lip gloss to come out. As I squeezed the tube, a little of the liquid gloss came through the hole, and just stayed there.

I put the tube up to my lips, and applied it first to the top lip, and then across the bottom one. The first thing I noticed was the smell. It was really sweet, and fruity. Then the taste of the lip gloss. My first impression of the taste was toffee, but then, I realized that it was more the plum taste. If tasted just like candy, or dessert, and I wanted to eat it off my lips.

As I pursed my lips together, I could get some of the flavor into my mouth. However, I didn't want to take all the lip gloss, off of my lips. While doing this I was amazed at how moist my lips were, and how they just slid off one another.

My lips also had a great shine to them. I believe the name of 'Plum Passion' was derived because of the taste of the lip gloss. It really didn't change the color of my lips. Looking at the tube, my lips would have been a darker color, almost a brown if that had been the case.

Of course I ate, and drank the lip gloss off, but that is the normal for me.

Maybelline have done what I would have expected of a lip gloss, but added the licious side, which was 'delicious' to taste.

Maybelline have create a fun loving lip gloss, with their Shiny Licious brand, and I am delighted that I bought several of these. I will be taking them to England with me on Friday for my 12 year old grand-daughter. I know the 6 year old will love them too.
