Tata Motors plans to sell Tata Nano, the ultra low cost car in Latin America using the network of its Indian partner and global car leader Fiat SpA. This was disclosed to media persons by Tata Motors Chairman Mr. Ratan Tata during an interview, recently.

Mr. Tata who is also a Fiat director, said that Tata Motors and Fiat were jointly studying the possibility to sell Nano in Latin America. Apart from this we are working on co-operation to add to existing projects such as partnership to produce engines in India. We also have projects to sell Ferrari and Maserati in India.

Nano is the world's cheapest cars which were delivered in India this month. Mr. Ratan Tata said that the car's production run for the next two years was already sold out. Tata Nano is all set to go to Europe after it passed the crash tests safety standards this month.

Tata and Fiat are in a joint venture called Fiat India Automobiles. Currently, this company sells Fiat models like the Linea, Grande Punto and Palio. Brazil is one of the biggest markets for the Italian car manufacturer Fiat, which may work in Tata's favour.
