Tatiana Del Toro is the Weeping Wildcard

American Idol Wildcards Announced Last Night

The judges announced the eight wildcards at the end of last night's live show. And, just when Idol fans thought the annoying crying and laughing in front of the cameras was over the season, Randy announced, "We stayed up days and nights with this decision" and then announced Tatiana Del Toro as one of the wildcards. Tatiana did not disappoint and cried during her entire conversation with Ryan Seacrest until Ryan interrupted her so they could move on to the next contestant. The judges had 27 contestants to select for the eight coveted wildcard slots, and Tatiana is one of the chosen eight.

Loyal idol viewers saw this one coming. Tatiana has received a lot of face time in front of the cameras since the show premiered. We first met Tatiana, wearing a prom dress, at her audition in San Francisco. She was one of the profiled contestants who told Ryan that her psychic told her she was going to make it into the Top 12. Before singing, she shared her press kit with the judges and Simon commented on her naughty pictures. After getting mixed reviews on Aretha's "I've Never Loved A Man," Tatiana made it to Hollywood. Once again, Tatiana and her annoying laughing or crying spells were featured a lot during the Hollywood weeks. Yes, we definitely saw this one coming.

Putting the crying and laughing aside, Tatiana does have a nice voice. However, the judges passed over some outstanding singers that could have been given a second chance. How about Ju Not Joyner who performed a beautiful rendition of "Hey There Deliah" and received rave reviews from all four judges or Felicia Barton whose performance was called unbelievable by Paula and amazing by Randy. It would have been nice to see other performers like Kai Kalma, Matt Breitzke or Stevie Wright perform tonight as well.

Fans across the country are being to wonder if this is a show about searching for the next American Idol or a show only cares about increasing its ratings on FOX. We may find some answers in tonight's show
