Right now the testing shows that the tattoo does not even have to be that big to be affective. The special ink measures the glucose in your body. Depending on your levels depends what color your tattoo will change. Currently if your levels are low the ink turns purple. If your levels are high it turns yellow. When your glucose levels are normal it will be an orange color. The levels change constantly making the colors change.
How cool would it be to have a tattoo like that? The tattoo does not even have to go too deep into your skin. I can imagine how fun it would be to have a tattoo that changes colors. I wonder if people who do not even have diabetes will want one. I bet they would.
Want to know when it hits the market? The human testing will take two more years if not more. However, that does not sound that long. Mice are getting their testing now. Keep your fingers crossed that this will all go smoothly.
Hopefully, soon people will be able to get a tattoo that actually helps the human body by showing glucose levels. I feel like this is the ultimate tool for diabetics. If this goes through as planned, you can be sure that I am getting one. I just think that this is one of the greatest scientific discoveries ever.
